Calvin Easter, 89 of Marengo passed away on February 16, 2024, at his home. Born October 6, 1934, he was the son of Charles and Stella (Bennett) Easter. Calvin, a dedicated US Marine and Korean War veteran, found joy in gardening and mushroom hunting throughout his life. On October 8, 1983, Calvin married Geneva Easter, who preceded him in death in 2009. Later, he found love again and married Anita Manship on September 26, 2013. Calvin retired from Walmart and was formerly employed at French Lick Resort. He attended Rock Springs Community Church in Hardinsburg.
Calvin is survived by:
Wife- Anita Easter of Marengo, Daughter- Teresa Clouse of Jasper, Son- Douglas Easter of Evansville, and sister Verna Owens of French Lick. He is also remembered by stepchildren Mark Manship of Marengo, Monte Manship of Salem, and Martin Manship of Florida, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Calvin is also preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Smith, Violet Busick & Roy Easter.
The funeral service for Calvin Easter will be held on Monday, February 19, at McAdams Mortuary. Friends may pay their respects from 11 AM to 1 PM, with the funeral following at 1 PM. Bro. Mark Manship will officiate the service, and the burial will take place in Stampers Creek Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #69 of Orleans.
