Leo Jimmy Sims

Leo Jimmy Sims, 68 of English, passed away March 11, 2020 at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born on September 19, 1951 in Tokyo, Japan. His parents were Carl & Tamae (Ichikawa) Sims. He married Annis Dooley April 29, 2000. Leo was a member of Valeene Wesleyan Church & retired from French Lick Resort. He formerly worked as a city planner for Arlington & Dallas, TX. He was a planning director for Monroe County Indiana & Orange County Emergency Preparedness Director. He was formerly a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners & Rotary Club. Leo also loved fishing and being on the farm.

Wife- Annis Dooley-Sims of English

Son- Colten Sims & wife, Lauren of Arlington, TX

Daughter- Sara Gilmore & husband, Matt of Bedford

Sister- Sharon Sims of Escondido, CA

Brother- David Sims- of Fort Worth, TX

Granddaughters- Camryn Sims & Sydney Gilmore

Several nieces and nephews

Leo is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Sims.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm Saturday, March 14 at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral will be 2pm Sunday, March 15 at the funeral home. Bro. David Manship will officiate. Burial will be in Harned Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Orange County Humane Society or Valeene Wesleyan Church.
