Paul Goodpaster

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Goodpaster, a beloved member of the community. Paul, age 77, left this world on November 18, 2023, at IU Health Paoli Hospital. Born on March 30, 1946, in Bedford to Walker Goodpaster and Hallie D. (Flick) Goodpaster, Paul was a devoted husband to Nancy (Allen) Goodpaster, whom he married on April 2, 1965.

Paul, a retired truck driver and self-taught musician, leaves behind a lasting legacy. He was also a member of the English Masonic Lodge and a proud Kentucky Colonel. Paul attended Campbellsburg Christian Church.

Survived by his loving wife Nancy Goodpaster of Orleans, son William B. Goodpaster of Paoli, and brothers Tim Goodpaster of French Lick and Walter Goodpaster (Valerie) of West Baden. Paul is also remembered by his grandchildren Halla Soop of Ft. Pierce, FL, Marlee Soop, Blair Soop and Walker James Soop all of Arlington, TX.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Hallie Marie Soop, brothers- Blaine and Gary Goodpaster, and sister Veronica Gilliatt.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 11 am at McAdams Mortuary, officiated by Brother Don Hicks. The burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Orleans.
