Phyllis Jean (Nunes) Schedel

"Jeanne" (Phyllis Jean Nunes) Schedel, age 81 of  Paoli, passed away November 13 at her home. Jeanne was born February 25, 1941, and raised in Jacksonville, IL, but spent most of her life in Paoli where she raised her family. She was employed as a dental assistant for seven years, a representative for Prudential Insurance for eleven years, traveled for nine years as a sales representative for various book-publishing companies and retired eleven years later from Chastain's, a lady's boutique at the French Lick Resort. Jeanne was a member of the Paoli Christian Church and an Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa.

Jeanne loved and took pride in her children, grandchildren, her home, beloved pets and close friends. She was very independent and spent time decorating her home, landscaping her yard and doing whatever was necessary to maintain her home, plus years of country dancing. She dearly loved the beauty of the rolling hills of southern Indiana and small-town living in Paoli. She met the love of her life at the young age of 76, reconnecting with a former classmate, Robert Prather. Both graduated from Jacksonville High School, in Jacksonville, IL. Jeanne, in 1959, and Robert, in 1958. Both went their separate ways for nearly 58 years, reconnecting on social media in January 2017, finding their true loves to share their golden years.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents- Owen and Catherine (Ballard) Nunes, sister- Janice Nunes Birdsell, and nephews- Michael Birdsell and Derek W. Neeley.

She is survived by her companion, Robert Prather

Children- Traci McGrath (Edward), Oklahoma City, OK, James O.Brown (Cynthia), St. Louis, MO, Bryan K. Brown, Hillsborough, NC, Bradley K. Brown, Winchester, IL, and Bobbi Schedel, Paoli, IN.

She also leaves behind grandchildren Ryan McGrath, Austin, TX, Logan McGrath of Oklahoma City, OK, Evan McGrath, Nashville, TN, Ashton Brown (Tiffany) and Chase Brown of St. Louis, MO, Timber Allenbrand, Paola, KS, Hunter Brown, Jacksonville, IL, Catherine May Lowe (Kaine), Madeline May and Ella Sims, Paoli, IN

Great-grandchildren, Theo Brown & Rosie Brown

Sister- LuAnn Neeley, Oolitic, IN

Niece, Kelsi Sullivan(Frankie)

Two great-nieces- Jaylin Grissom and Braylie Neeley, of Bedford, IN

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday, November 16 at McAdams Mortuary.  Graveside rites will be held at East Cemetery in Jacksonville, IL
