Richard Joseph "Joe" Tucker

Richard Joseph “Joe” Tucker, 71, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away on November 23, 2024, at IU Health Bedford Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1953, in Salem, Indiana, to Louis Leroy and Clara Jane (Reasor) Tucker.

Joe married Lila Jean Walls on August 18, 1995, and they shared many years of love and companionship. He retired as the Chief of Maintenance for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Monroe Lake, a position he held for over 35 years.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Lila Jean Tucker of Paoli; four daughters, Gretchen Smith (Darren) of Nashville, TN, Malina Owens (Jason) of Walton, Ky, Lacey Sarafin (Brian) of Ogden, UT, and Morgan Sutter of Terrace Park, OH. He was grandfather to Hunter Clark, Quincy Owens, Lily Sarafin, Ivy Sarafin, Evelyn Sutter, Catalina Smith, Eliana Hernandez, and Jolee Smith, and a great-grandfather to Mateo Hernandez.

He is also survived by his brother, Rodger Tucker (Judy) of Paoli, and his sister, Lola Taylor (Ron) of Orleans. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Tucker.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at McAdams Mortuary. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Darren Smith will officiate the service. In accordance with Joe’s wishes, cremation was chosen.
