Ronald "Ray" Smitson, 82 of Paoli, passed away July 30, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany. He was born July 11, 1938 in Eckerty to parents, Marvin Fairest & Freida Arlu (Brown) Smitson. He married Shirley Bonnetti (Bennett) Smitson on October 24, 1959. He was a retired foreman and plow operator for Henkel & McCoy Construction Co. & he was a member of the Christian faith.

Survivors include:

Sons- Duane Smitson & wife, Sherry of Paoli & Tracy Smitson & wife, Dina of Paoli

Daughter- Penny Clifton & husband Tracy of Corydon

Mother- Freida Smitson of Corydon

Brother- Terry Smitson & wife Mary Jo of Corydon

13 Grandchildren

25 Great-Grandchildren

1 Great-Great-Grandchild

He is preceded in death by: father, wife, son- Steven Smitson, grandson & brothers- Donald & Ralph Smitson.

Funeral will be 1pm Monday, August 3, 2020 at McAdams Mortuary. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm the service time monday at the funeral home. Bro. Harvey McAdams will officiate. Burial will be in Paoli Community Cemetery.
