Shirley Joan Padgett

Shirley Joan Padgett, age 87 of Paoli, passed away on June 15, 2024 at Baptist East Floyd Hospital. She was born on March 31, 1937, in Danville, IL to parents Oscar Jones & Emma (Hunt) Jones. Before retiring, Shirley worked as the secretary for Paoli United Methodist Church for 21 years, as well as being  member she was in the choir and worked for the church preschool and Syria Christian Church preschool. Shirley was also  President of the Paoli women's club formerly of Paoli. 

Survivors include her son - Rodney Handy (Mary) of Utah, daughter - Connie Seals of Paoli, grandchildren - Mills Handy, Wilam Handy, Reid Handy, Kaylee Asbell, Tyson Asbell, Lili Seals, Laykin Seals, & Timmy Asbell, great grandchildren - Bella Allen, Macon Allen, Kacie Asbell, & Timmy Asbell. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Gene Handy, second husband Bobby Padgett, daughter- Debbie Asbell & grandson, Bobby Blair Handy.
