Steven Michael Manning

Early in the morning of September 28th the Lord received the extraordinary Steven Manning. Steven was born in Los Angeles, California to parents Ron Milton Manning and Ann Lorraine Peters and was younger brother to Gary R. Manning.  He attended Quartz Hill High School where he played football and participated in both the art and leadership clubs. He graduated in 1971.

In 1975, Steven met the brilliant and beautiful Linda Susan Boles and fell head over heels in love. They were married July 25, 1981 on the Northern slopes of the San Gabriel mountains of California. In 1985 and 1986 their family grew to include two wonderful sons, Timothy Aron and Jamison Michael.

Steven enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, California, where he was a heavy equipment operator for 35 years. He worked tirelessly to provide for his beloved family and celebrated all their successes. He was an avid outdoorsman, as well as a creative and gifted storyteller. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a loyal friend.

Steven taught his family to be good to one another, to serve their communities, and be kind to strangers. He stood up for his beliefs and set an example for his loved ones by living his life with courage and independence.

Those who knew Steven will be hard pressed to forget him. He now joins his parents and brother in God's embrace, and leaves behind many who adored him, including his wife Linda, sons Timothy and Jamison, daughter-in-law Hannah, granddaughters Olivia and Lorelei, nephew Shawn Manning, as well as cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws and countless friends.

Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate Stevens life at Rock Springs Church, 4456 E County Road 725 S, Hardinsburg, Indiana 47125 on Tuesday, October 03, 2023 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Rock Springs Church Cemetery Restoration Project.
