Winnifred "Winnie" L (Mansell) Walker

Winnifred "Winnie" L. Walker, 89, of Depauw, passed away on November 10, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at her daughter’s home in Tell City.  She was born on January 3, 1934, in Pasadena, California, to Earl Mansell and Violet (Green) Mansell. She married John William Walker on October 17, 1992.

Winnifred dedicated her professional life as a phlebotomist at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was also a member of Crossroads Church of Christ in Marengo.

She is survived by her four daughters: Sharon Bary of Depauw, Teresa Royer of Tell City, Mary Bary of Leavenworth, and Susan Cook of Depauw. Winnie leaves behind a legacy through 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Steve Preflatish and Mark Preflatish.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, at 11am at McAdams Mortuary, with Bro. Denny Moon officiating. The burial will take place at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Depauw. Visitation hours are scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, from 4 to 7 PM at McAdams Mortuary. Condolences can be shared at mcadamsmortuary.com. Winnifred will be dearly missed, but her memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
